Online Schooling FAQ

Common questions about RCA's online program

Our online program is open to all families seeking a Christ-centered education with the flexibility to learn from anywhere. Whether your circumstances call for travel, health considerations, or a preference for home-based learning, you can enroll and enjoy full access to every in-person activity we offer.
RCA welcomes families from all backgrounds. While our curriculum is rooted in a biblical worldview, we do not require students or families to identify as Christian in order to enroll.
There is no geographic requirement for enrollment. Families from any location are welcome to join our online program and participate in campus activities as their schedule allows.
No. All online learners are eligible to participate in sports and campus events, provided they can attend practices and games.
Yes. The self-paced nature of our curriculum makes it well-suited for families who travel. Students can maintain their coursework from anywhere while staying connected to the RCA community.
Your enrollment travels with you. Our online program combines the flexibility of remote learning with the stability of a brick-and-mortar school community — so whether you relocate across town or across the country, your student remains part of RCA.
Reach out to our admissions office to discuss enrollment, tuition, and requirements. Scholarships are available to help reduce costs. Our team will walk you through each step and introduce you to your liaison upon enrollment.
Our online program is available for students in grades K-12, providing a comprehensive Christ-centered education across all grade levels.
Tuition for online schooling is $8,350, with scholarships available to reduce that amount. All fees and costs are the same between online and in-person schooling. For detailed information about tuition and fees, please visit our documents page or contact our admissions office to discuss scholarship opportunities and financial aid programs.
Yes, there is an application fee required as part of the enrollment process. Please contact our admissions office for current fee information and details about the application process.
No. There are no in-person requirements for the online program itself. However, online learners are welcome and encouraged to participate in any in-person activities — including sports, events, and chapel — as their schedule allows.
Our online curriculum is self-paced, allowing students to progress through material at a rhythm that suits their learning style while meeting course requirements. This approach supports both accelerated learners and those who benefit from additional time.
Instruction is delivered through a pre-recorded platform that adapts to each student's academic level. Your liaison accompanies you throughout the learning process and is available to answer questions on any assignment, ensuring personalized support every step of the way.
A tablet or computer manufactured within the last three years, along with a reliable internet connection, is sufficient for our platform. No specialized hardware is required.
Yes. One of the most exciting features of our program is its customizable academic structure. Each course can be adjusted to one of three levels: Remedial, Standard, or Honors. These levels can be toggled on or off throughout the school year in each individual class, allowing students to receive additional support where needed or greater academic challenge where they are ready to excel. This flexibility ensures that every child can grow academically at the right pace — without being locked into a single track for the entire year.
Yes. Online learners are fully eligible to try out for and compete in our athletic programs — including soccer, volleyball, basketball, baseball, softball, cheer, and golf. Your liaison will help you connect with coaches and teammates and navigate practice schedules.
As with all RCA students, participation in athletics involves modest fees that help cover equipment, officiating, facility rentals, and related expenses. Your liaison can provide specific fee information for your chosen sport.
Athletics require on-campus attendance for practices and games. Schedules vary by sport and season — your liaison can share detailed information and help you plan around your commitments.
Each sport holds tryouts at different points in the year. Tryout dates, sign-up instructions, and other athletic updates are included in our weekly parent email. Your liaison can also guide you through the process.
Your liaison serves as your primary contact for all school-related questions, including athletics. They will connect you with the right coaches and help you get started.
Yes. Prom, formal dances, the Christmas Program, Senior Sunrise, field trips, spirit weeks, and all other school events are open to online learners. You are a full member of the RCA community.
There is no limit. We encourage online learners to attend as many in-person events as they are able. The more you participate, the more connected you become to our community.
Yes. Online learners may join clubs and student organizations. Please note that most clubs meet in person on a regular schedule, so participation will require some on-campus attendance.
Chapel is a weekly on-campus gathering for praise, worship, and biblical teaching. It is a cornerstone of life at RCA, and online learners are warmly invited to attend in person whenever they are able. Chapel is an in-person only event and is not live-streamed.
Chapel takes place on Wednesdays. The specific time may vary based on the school calendar, but it typically falls between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m, depending on the grade level.
Chapel is not required, though we strongly encourage attendance. We recognize that the flexibility of online learning may make weekly attendance difficult for some families, and we welcome you whenever you can join us.
Every online learner is paired with a dedicated liaison — a staff member who serves as your direct connection to RCA. Your liaison coordinates with in-person students and staff, supports your academic needs, helps you sign up for activities, and ensures you have the resources for a successful year.
Your liaison is assigned on your first day at Riverside. From day one, you will have a named contact to support your family throughout the school year.
Yes. Your liaison is your first point of contact for any questions, including technical ones. For issues that require additional support, we offer both on-site and remote tech assistance.
