Levels of Competition
At RCA, we offer three distinct levels of athletic competition, each designed to meet the developmental needs of our students. While all teams compete with excellence, each level has its own specific focus and goals.
Middle School (Grades 6-8)
Focus: Learning and Development
- Emphasis on learning fundamentals and basic skills
- Introduction to team play and sportsmanship
- Equal playing time for all team members
- Focus on participation and enjoyment
Junior Varsity (Grades 7-10)
Focus: Skill Development and Competition
- Advanced skill development and refinement
- More complex team strategies and plays
- Balanced focus on winning and development
- Preparation for varsity competition
Varsity
Focus: Competitive Excellence
- Highest level of competition and skill
- Advanced team strategies and execution
- Playing time based on team performance
- Maximum competitive opportunities
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in RCA sports programs, students must meet the following requirements. This applies to both on-campus students and those enrolled through our Online Academy.
Academic & Age Requirements
- Must be an enrolled student at RCA in good standing
- Must not reach 19th birthday before August 1 of current school year
- Must meet scholastic academic requirements
Documentation & Fees
- Complete physical examination
- Submit Athletic Handbook Signature Form
- Pay Athletic Fee: $125.00 (per sport)
Team Requirements
- Must desire to be on a competitive team of the same gender
- Must adhere to Athletic Handbook standards
- Must demonstrate commitment to team goals
Important Note
All requirements must be met and documentation submitted before the start of the season. Failure to meet any requirement may result in ineligibility to participate.
